How it works

Raise funds, get matched, go play

If your group is looking to raise money for new community pickleball equipment SMPA is here to help get you fully funded and on the court faster.

Step 1

Submit a Matching Donations Request to get your project approved. Requests must be made by an active SMPA supporter. 

Step 2

Once approved, start fundraising using the SMPA-provided donations web site. 

Step 3

SMPA will purchase the equipment and have it shipped to your location.

Program Details:

SMPA will match 1:1 any donation from an active SMPA supporter, up to $250 per donor.

Donating SMPA members must log into the (Member Planet) fundraising page in order that their contributions can be validated for gift matching

SMPA will match up to a total of 25% of the overall cost of a project (including its applicable taxes and shipping).

Depending on the total cost of the project, a minimum amount of donations will need to come from active SMPA supporters to reach the 25% total match of the project.

Equipment purchased through this program must be for the enhancement of your group or community, not for a private entity, and not for individual use.

Example:

Your group wants to buy a new semi-permanent net for your local courts at a total cost of $2,500. Based on the total cost of this project the breakdown will be as follows:  

  • SMPA’s total (maximum)match for the project = $625 (2,500 x .25)
  • Your total fundraising goal = $1,875 ($2,500 – $625)
  • Portion of funds raised that must come from active SMPA supporters = $625

 

Examples of fund-raising projects eligible for matching: (Paddles, balls, etc are not eligible)

  • Semi-permanent nets
  • Portable nets (for indoor gyms)
  • Squeegees
  • Paddle Racks
  • Storage boxes
