Drive for Semi-permanent Douglas Nets Will Expand Pickleball on Intramural (IMA) Campus Courts
Help the UW Husky Pickleball Club add two Douglas nets to the University of Washington Intramural (IMA) outdoor pickleball courts. The fundraising goal is $5,000. Funds raised in excess of those needed to purchase two Douglas nets will be donated to the Husky Pickleball Club.

UW Husky Pickleball is the only Washington State pickleball team competing nationally. In 2025, the team achieved an impressive 6th place ranking in the DUPR collegiate standings, out of 100 teams (see Power Rankings). Help them grow their game. More Places to Play and Encouragement to Thrive
The Husky Pickleball Team’s success is amazing considering their play was limited to an IMA gym and wherever the team could find open play on public courts in Seattle. But this story takes a turn for the better. Recently, the UW Athletic Department stepped up and gave the team access to space on six IMA tennis courts. Dedicated access was given to Court 12 and shared access on Court 11. The outdoor IMA pickleball courts are located on the UW Campus at the corner of Mountlake Blvd NE and NE Wahkiakum Rd. Court 11 is shared with tennis and is set up for two pickleball courts. Court 12 is dedicated for pickleball and has a great detail of potential, but that is for the team to decide. Let’s give them a fighting chance to be national champions by adding quality nets to their shared courts.
The IMA outdoor pickleball courts are available for use with a UW Recreation membership https://www.washington.edu/ima/member/, subject to UW scheduling priority. IMA memberships are reserved for UW students, employees, retirees, affiliates and their plus ones.
