The Board of Directors, comprised of pickleball players who live and play in the metro area, has so far registered SMPA as a legal entity, elected officers, and connected with local and regional pickleball players to build our base. We are committed to working with local pickleball players to improve and increase pickleball facilities all across Seattle and beyond by sharing resources and lessons learned.
Our accomplishments in our first months of existence include rallying local pickleball players to attend Parks Board meetings to show the number of players in the area, and increasing the number of courts in the Parks Department Pickleball Pilot program from two to seven venues for a total of 24 new outside courts throughout Seattle. Our plans include ongoing outreach to pickleball players, engagement with the metro area civic departments, while we grow the organization, our membership, and Seattle metro area pickleball in 2018 and beyond.
Visit our Benefits page and learn about the plans and aspirations of our organization. There’s room for everyone, from beginning players to the many hotly competitive and advanced players, and yes, even for the pros in our midst.
